Pied Piper of Hamelin - Piper Character

--3rd project of my first year in concept art at FX Barcelona Film School--
A reinterpretation of the tale: Pied Piper of Hamelin. In this retail, the piper is the one who drives the rats into the town, spreading the plague, and turning him into a fearful symbol of desolation that brings the plague wherever he appears.

He appears on neglected towns where the air is corrupted by the decomposition, accumulating diseases and discomfort.
Only carrying with him a flute, he walks looking at the ground and does not make a sound when stteping. From his mouth does not come out a single word, only the sound of this faint respiration, abruptly cut by a dry and short cough.
